Match Report - T20 Finals Eagles Vs Tiger Pros

Two best teams played out the T-20 Finals @ RRCG on Dec 2nd 2017. It was a perfect day for playing cricket and both team looked excited. Eagles batted 1st. There was little due on the ground but the conditions were perfect. Pros started with Owais and he bowled good. Eagles opening pair was middling the ball nice enough and scoring almost 10 runs per overs.

Owais struck 1st getting Vinay caught to only fielder on the boundary. This triggered a bowling response. For the next couple of overs Tahirbhai bowled really well. Fast and swing bowling at its best. Quickly Eagles were 4 down. Shafibhai and Sumeer used their experience and batted smartly. Divyesh finished the innings with much needed runs. Eagles finished the innings at 158/7.

Defending 159 against a power pack Pros batting line up is a very tough task. Eagles started with Bhavesh and Shafibhai. Both bowled excellent Line and length. Swing bowing at its best. Openers, Majid and Arun were finding it difficult to score. Shafibhai grabbed much needed 1st wicket of Majid followed by Arun’s wicket by Bhavesh with a peach of a delivery. Pros started building partnership as usual. Pros were cruising.

Divyesh was introduced. In the 2nd over DB grabbed a hat trick that could only be dreamt of. Reality happened and eagles were in driving seat. Ashwant batted beautifully before getting caught on the leg side. Game was decided in the final over and Pros needed 21. Adnanbhai made sure it goes to the last ball.

First 5 balls were as follows:6 0 0 6 4.

Last ball and Pros needed 5. The way Adnan was hitting , every possibility the last ball could have gone anywhere. Divyesh was calm and probably the toughest delivery he was about to bowl in his entire career. Unfortunately for Pros, Adnanbhai missed it. Eagles won the game by 5 runs. Pros finished innings at 154/8. Divyesh was declared MOM for his brilliant 5 wickets haul.

Credit to both the Umpires - Brian and Arun. Both were really good and the game was conducted were very smoothly. At the end Cricket won and eagerly waiting forward to 2018. Would like to thank the outgoing CTCL BODS for their time and effort and wish good luck to the Newly Elected members and hope you guys make the right decision that will help Propel the League Forward.
